Check every reference in a manuscript against Crossref and the Retraction Watch database: retracted papers and expressions of concern, DOIs that don't exist or belong to a different paper, missing DOIs, and references that can't be found anywhere.
What leaves your computer. The manuscript is read inside your browser and never uploaded. To check the
references, each reference's DOI or text is sent to Crossref,
the non-profit that registers DOIs; nothing else is sent.
